Imports Rule Small Car Safety for 2010!

While none of the Mazda Bradenton CX-7 models made this list, there were plenty of other imports that offer drivers safe small cars.  In fact, all ten of the top safest small cars for 2010 are import brands!  This is surprising seeing that Ford and Chevrolet have done a lot of work to make sure that their vehicles are safe and of the highest quality.  The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awards cars the Top Safety Pick based on the fact that they receive the highest rating of "good" in all four crash test areas (front, rear, and side impact as well as rollover strength) and are equipped with electronic stability control.

Kia Pittsburgh should be quite proud of themselves, as they had two models make the list.  The Kia Forte and Kia Soul were both awarded Top Safety Pick awards for 2010.  Both of these models are cute and affordable.  Looking an awful lot like the Kia Soul is the sporty Nissan Cube from Nissan Yuma, which also was honored with the award.  This boxy little number offers functionality and convenience for its drivers.  Also on the list was the 2010 Subaru Impreza, which offers drivers a great sporty driving experience.  Subaru is known for making some of the safest vehicles in the industry with their all wheel drive traction that comes standard.

Two cars that shouldn't surprise you are the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.  These two models are on just about every list as they really can't be beat; reliability, price, reputation, and safety.  If drivers want something a bit sportier, the 2010 VW Golf is a great option with its turbocharged engine and small size.  Also on the list is the cute and boxy 2010 Scion xB.  With a base price of only $16,700 and plenty of standard and optional features, this car offers great value.
