Volvo Creates New Advertising Team;

Volvo has put together a new advertising team just two weeks after the company has changed hands from Ford to Geely. Ford sold off the brand after the company had made decisions to reduce brand offerings and to focus on its core and popular vehicle lines: Ford and Lincoln. The latest high quality Ford offerings can be purchased at a financial discount during Ford Incentives and other savings throughout the year. Volvo is now in different hands, but Geely is now assigning changes to the leadership in the company.

Volkswagen and other foreign automakers have not had to deal with these major shifts, however Volvo has had to change up its management in order to make the company more competitive and profitable for the future. Japanese automakers Honda, whose models are offered at Warwick Honda, and Toyota have their own marketing teams which have been successful at selling their vehicles, and Geely hopes to recreate similar teams with their new Volvo marketing team.

Volvo is creating a dedicated unit to serve the company's marketing needs which is a similar business model to many of its competitors. Ford, Lexus, Mazda, and many others have their own creative staff. The marketing team will be called Team Volvo and will be a combination of creative staff from various organization. There will be media buying duties handled by Havas' Arnold and Team Volvo will be based in Amsterdam. The team will have 30 people and it will also have offices in Boston and China.

The reason that Amsterdam was chosen as the location for the branch was because this city has the same time zone as Volvo's corporate headquarters in Sweden. Amsterdam also has a "cosmopolitan culture and diverse talent as you need." and the company will be seeking some of the brightest and best marketing minds to help it compete with other automakers.
