When you are driving down the road, it is likely you will pass several vehicles from Toyota Stafford. There are tons of import brands driving around American streets, and their technology and innovative ideas give consumers a great variety to choose from when purchasing their next car. One brand we don’t hear that much about, nor do we see too often, is Saab Automobile. This Swedish company is a big source of competition for the cars from Subaru Birmingham, and their latest announcement isn’t going to change that anytime soon! Saab has just announced their partnership with American Axle Manufacturing.
AAM and Saab together want to produce an electric all-wheel drive system, and the new technology would likely be incorporated in the Saab 2012 line up. Additionally, AAM will create an electric driveline and hybrid driveline system for Saab vehicles. This new technology will put pressure on the sales at Honda CT. AAM is based out of Detroit, Michigan but has locations throughout the entire globe. The collaboration with Saab will take place in Trollhattan, Sweden, which makes sense for this Swedish auto maker.
Saab has long-time been an innovative auto maker with an elusive flair about them. Their company history is based upon their creation from jet and aircraft engineers. Saab has made a name for themselves by creating one of a kind vehicles that are consistently leaders in the industry. AAM is an automotive manufacturing supplier and supplies parts for the American Three (Ford, Chrysler, General Motors), as well as Harley Davidson, Nissan, Volvo, Audi, and now Saab. Their partnership list is quite extensive and their plants tend to be clustered in manufacturing areas so that they can be close to their customers.
