All-Wheel Drive Equals Winter Safety!

A lot of the vehicles you find at Salisbury Pohanka Mazda come standard with rear-wheel drive, which can make winter driving down right dangerous. Too many times have I seen vehicles spin their tires but go nowhere. There are plenty of new safety features on the cars from Nissan Dealer Birmingham, but make sure you pay special attention to the trim level and engine you are getting from your new car. While many brands offer the same models in front wheel or all-wheel drive, sometimes the price differences at Honda Dealer Boise City can sway your purchase. We have scoured auto websites and are pleased to report that there are plenty of import models to choose from that will help keep everyone in your vehicle safe.

Amazingly enough, you can get a fancy sports car that will be safer than a lot of the large vehicles you share the road with. One expensive example is the 2011 Audi R8 Spyder; after you spend $128,950, we would hope that this vehicle would keep you safe. When you consider the 525 horsepower under the hood, all-wheel drive is a necessity to keep all four wheels on the pavement! Another popular brand comes from German auto makers at BMW. The 335i xDrive Coupe combines safe all-wheel drive capabilities with the sleek and attractive appeal that BMW offers their consumers. Many of the other performance vehicles on the road feature rear-wheel drive for that added power.

You can't talk about safe imports without mentioning Subaru and Volvo. The 2011 Subaru Forester adds tons of safety features and helps earn the brand Top Safety Pick Awards from the IIHS year after year. The Forester comes with either a 170 horsepower engine or the turbocharged 224 horsepower model, but the all-wheel drive will maintain the safety of this small SUV. Our Swedish friends have always been concerned with manufacturing safe vehicles, and the 2011 Volvo S60 is no exception. This attractive design comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and their Instant Traction technology. There is always the additional safety option of the Pedestrian Detection system, which will help stop the car if a pedestrian is detected by the sensors.
