Mazda 2 to Prepare Mazda For Gas Hikes

The CEO of Mazda, Jim O'Sullivan said that the Mazda 2 is being launched at the perfect time. The car is going to be released at a period in which gas prices are at a low but have the potential to rise. Mazda cars can be found at a local Bradenton used cars dealer. Volkswagen has numerous gas efficient models that can be purchased at a discount during Peoria Volkswagen Deals. The competing Volvo S40 Compact vehicle can be purchased at a Nashua Volvo dealer.

Jim O'Sullivan said, "I'm glad we're launching now vs. year-ago. A year-ago, we would have launched in the abyss of the market and the economy caving in and all the distractions. When the economy recovers, commodities start to be in greater demand globally. Fuel prices are going to be up over $4, closer to $5 a gallon, so we want to get in before the market gets to that level."

The Mazda 2 is the most fuel efficient model that Mazda has offered as of yet. The CEO hopes that the economy being in an upswing and projected increased subcompact sales will result in more Mazda 2 sales. The Mazda 2 gets 28/35 miles per gallon city/highway, which is right around what the Yaris gets. It is not a huge amount, but it is certainly a very competitive fuel efficiency.

The Mazda 2 for some is just a revamped Ford Fiesta. The two models do share the same platform. However, Mazda 2 is a different vehicle and it features a much different body with a sleek design. The Ford Fiesta is a bit heavier and wider. The new Mazda is a B-segment vehicle, also known as a subcompact vehicle. Subcompact automobiles are increasing in demand in the United States and the Mazda 2 will be no exception to the rule.
