Geely Adds Impressive Team to Volvo!

Geely is now the owner of Volvo, a Swedish automaker, and the company is based out of China. Geely has been quietly assembling a sort of mini all star team of executives and leaders to take reigns of the company and help increase its productivity and profitability. Ford has previously had ownership of Volvo, and Ford has a business relationship with Mazda whose models are sold at a Bradenton Mazda Dealer, but Ford gave away its ownership of Volvo to Geely after the company decided to focus on its core brands.

Other automakers like Volkswagen have focused on only a few brands and have done well with this type of business model, and Volkswagen's latest models can be purchased from a Volkswagen Peoria dealership. Smaller automakers such as Subaru whose models can be purchased at a Subaru Worcester dealership have had no choice but to focus on a smaller number of models in order to be profitable.

Geely has put together a very strong international team to market and develop the Swedish company. Volvo made an annual profit in 2005 last and is looking to return to profitability quickly with its new ownership. Still, the company has a long way to go before it is back to being one of the more profitable European brands as it once was in the past.

Geely's president Li Shufu is now the chairman of Volvo cars. The company now has six board directors which are veterans of the automotive industry. Geely has assembled a team of veterans in order to have the greatest amount of experience working for them. These veterans are non Chinese experienced executives in the automotive industry, and Geely's move to hire this leadership will likely prove to be profitable and intelligetn for the company as it hopes to compete with European and American auto brands.
