Nissan and Hawaii: Eco-Friendly Partnership

Consumers have been hearing about the Nissan Leaf for quite some time now and are eagerly awaiting its release.  Unless you live in Hawaii, you may want to check out some other alternative fuel source vehicles from Honda Dealer Troy.  Nissan of North America has announced that the 2011 Nissan Leaf will be released in Hawaii as one of its first launch regions.  While the cars from Honda Dealer Pittsburgh are popular and fuel efficient, Nissan has enjoyed a history of stellar sales in the island region.  Plus, Hawaii is known for their effort in being eco-friendly and creating renewable sources of energy.  When you are in the middle of an ocean, you try to be as self-reliant as possible to avoid having to import everything as costly rates.

The U.S. Government is doing its part to help increase the sales of the Nissan Leaf.  They are offering a $7,500 tax credit to people who purchase one of the zero emission vehicles.  It will probably be a long time before we see such a fuel efficient model from Dodge Dealer Reading!  With a base price of $32,780, the Nissan Leaf isn't outrageously priced by any means, but the government wants to increase the chances of people buying the innovative car.  As the Leaf gains popularity, the price will likely drop in a few years.  Additionally, the state of Hawaii is offering a $4,500 state tax credit for their residents who buy the Leaf, as well as $500 back if they purchase the home charging station.

The Leaf is set to arrive in Hawaii in January of 2011 and is able to go over 300 miles on a single charge!  According to Nissan, it will cost about five cents per mile to charge and operate the Nissan Leaf.  When you tally that up into something we can actually compare, it would be twenty miles per dollar.  Let's say the cost of gas is $3.00 per gallon, and the Leaf can drive 60 miles for only $3.00 worth of electricity!
