Mercedes CL-class Coupe has a Few New Upgrades;

The Mercedes CL-class Coupe offers a few different exterior changes from the 2010 version and a few other feature changes for 2011. The CL-class is not really in competition with models like the Ford F-150 that can be found at a Ford F-150 Inventory or Pittsburgh Ford dealer. Volkswagen is another German automaker that has a few coupe models that can be found at a Volkswagen Peoria dealer that are not priced in the same range as the CL-class.

The CL-class is based on the same auto platform as the S-class model. Mercedes was supposedly to name the CL-class the S-class coupe but instead settled on the CL-class. The current variations available of the CL-class include the CL 550 which features 4 wheel drive and the CL 600 which features rear wheel drive. Both models have new variations in their bodies from the 2010 models. Two new models that will come out over the next year or so are the C63 AMG and the CL65 AMG. The CL63 AMG will have a 5.5 liter twin turbo V-8.

The CL 550 and CL 600 models come with some of the most lavish interiors available on a luxury vehicle. Both models will have a split screen navigation and entertainment system which will allow passengers to view a DVD on one side of the screen and drivers to simultaneously check directions with the navigation system. Both models will be available with the Designo package which allows further customization of vehicle trim, exterior, and interior.

The CL 550 features an all-new 4.6 liter twin turbo V-8 engine. The previous year's engine was a 5.5 liter V-8. The new engine has 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque while having increased fuel efficiency of up to 15 percent and lower emissions. The new engine is the biggest change in the previous year models. The CL 550 and CL 600 are available at a local Mercedes dealership.
