Mercedes to Pass Lexus for Market Lead in U.S.;

Mercedes is primed to once again be the champion of the United States luxury auto market as sales from Toyota's luxury Lexus brand have dropped. Cadillac is GM's luxury brand that is looking for a flagship model, and other GM models can be purchased at Dayton Chevrolet Dealers. Lexus sales have dropped amid reports of vehicle faults in numerous Lexus models and other negative publicity that the automaker has had to battle over the past half year. Used Lexus models can be purchased with North Carolina Used Car Loans.

Audi, BMW, Cadillac, and Lincoln are other major luxury sellers that battle for the top spot in the United States luxury auto market. Audi models can be test driven at your local Volkswagen Dealer that offers Audi models as well.

Sales of the Mercedes E-class in particular have doubled to 27,778 in the first half of 2010. The E-class is one of the highest rated Mercedes models on the market. For the first half of 2010, Lexus models increased by 19 percent in sales and Mercedes grew by a total of 25 percent to 106,972 sales in the United States. Mercedes models like the E-class have been shown to be popular sellers.

Mercedes may take over Lexus as being the top seller for luxury vehicles in the United States. Lexus has suffered image problems due to fuel leaks, engine stalling problems, and vehicle rollover problems in various Lexus models. Toyota has recalled over 8 million vehicles under its Toyota brand due to various defects, and this tally does not include Lexus brand models.

Time will tell if Mercedes does actually go on to take over the top spot from Lexus in the United States, but it is certain to be a battle. Lexus will not easily give up its spot, and although there have been vehicle flaws with Lexus models, none of the flaws have been so severe to cause huge decreases in sales so far.
